Perle Systems Releases Multihost Features

The Perle IOLAN SCS/STS and SDS product line now available with advanced multihost capabilities

NASHVILLE, TN - July 20, 2007 — Perle continues to extend its console server market leadership, announcing today the launch of a multihost feature that includes bi-directional multihost sharing and automatic backup on its best selling IOLAN line of console/terminal/device servers. The IOLAN product family provides secure remote console management of data centers and remote IT assets worldwide for a broad range of businesses.

An industry standard in console management is the ability to support four multihost sessions. The Perle IOLAN supports a larger number of simultaneous sessions with multiple hosts – 1024 inbound, 49 outbound (20 outbound for desktop models). Another element of the new feature is the Automatic Backup whereby a connection control enables an alternative “backup” session be automatically established to a secondary host server should the primary connection be lost or dropped inadvertently.
