IOLANs now have the ability to share a serial port across multiple TCP or UDP servers. A typical application involves data recording to multiple data loggers simultaneously as well as for redundancy backup purposes.

The IOLAN Multihost feature exceeds all other competitive products
- Competitors support up to 4 multihost sessions. IOLANs can support a larger number of simultaneous sessions with multiple hosts – 1024 inbound, 49 outbound ( 20 outbound for desktop models )
- Can be set up to send or receive data on these sessions
- Backup connection control enables an alternative backup session be automatically establish to an alternate secondary host server should the primary connection be lost or dropped inadvertently.
