Perle Systems TruePort Software Certified for Windows Server 2008
The first digitally signed 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 2008 driver for a COM port re-director utility is awarded to Perle Systems.
NASHVILLE, TN - September 24, 2008— Perle Systems, the global developer and manufacturer of serial to Ethernet connectivity solutions today announced Windows 2008 certification for their TruePort software. Perle is the first company to receive 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 2008 certification for a COM port re-director utility in the industry. All drivers can be downloaded from Perle’s website.

Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 Certification of products is granted after passing a series of rigorous testing. Once a product is certified the company earns the right to use the highly respected Microsoft Windows Server 2008 logo. The authorized use of this logo is proof that a product or solution has met the stringent criteria set out by Microsoft indicating reliability and technical excellence.
Perle’s TruePort is a COM port re-director driver utility that is installed on the application server. All COM port directed data sent by the application is re-directed by TruePort across the IP/Ethernet network to remote Perle Terminal Servers or I/O Device Servers which have the target devices connected to them. Data and serial port signaling is transparently communicated between the application and remote device.
