Perle Systems Launches a Comprehensive Suite of New Console Server Features and Integrated Hardware
Unique Console Server Features and a Line of Remote Power Switches Create an Integrated and Complete Data Center Management Solution
NASHVILLE, TN - March 06, 2007 — Perle Systems today announced the latest in an already sophisticated suite of features for their best selling Console Servers. The newest feature, Redundant Path Technology, has been added to the full product family of IOLAN Secure Console and Terminal Servers. Redundant Path Technology, unique to Perle, assures serial port access through Active Standby and Dual Network Access, offering the most reliable solution for managing data center and remote branch equipment. Perle has also released a line of Remote Power Switches ( RPS). The RPS is an intelligent power switch that enables Data Center Managers to remotely power on/off/cycle Data Center equipment thereby restoring equipment functionality and decreasing downtime.
“This is an obvious development for Perle Systems. The Perle IOLAN line of console and terminal servers is already in many of the worlds’ largest data centers. The introduction of Redundant Path Technology offers our customers the ability for optimal performance in their Data Centers using familiar products that are already recognized globally for unwavering reliability” said Joe Perle, CEO of Perle Systems.
Perle continues, “We understand the challenges of the Data Center Manager and the need for continuous uptime in any company. Interruptions in business continuity, even a minor one, mean significant financial loss. The new features, especially the Redundant Path Technology combined with the Remote Power Switch, provide a secure integrated Data Center Management Solution that improves a company’s current Data Center performance – no matter what that is.”
This completely integrated remote power management of equipment takes advantage of the extensive security such as SSH/SSL encryption, RADIUS, TACACS, Kerberos, LDAP, NIS and SecurID authentication schemes provided by IOLAN console servers. The Remote Power Switch comes in an 8 or 16 plug model, either NEMA or IEC compatible and is available in horizontal and vertical form factor.
The IOLAN Console servers and IOLAN terminal servers feature Redundant Path Technology,Secure Clustering, Easy Port Web Access and Direct IP Addressing (IP Aliasing) among other superior features. Both the Remote Power Switch and the new IOLAN features are available February 6th 2007 worldwide through the Perle Systems Channel.
