Console management enables intelligent data center management

Cloud computing and data center complexity
I know, it sounds crazy to think that a computing paradigm that is built around outsourcing large chunks of the data center is actually making life harder for IT managers, but InfoWorld has a point. The report explained that even though cloud resources can be hosted just about anyway, the actual server setup has to be managed. This leaves many IT leaders managing thousands of servers distributed across multiple internal and third-party data centers instead of dealing with the sometimes-annoying limitations of a simple corporate data center.
The issue really is not that surprising, though not many people were talking about it just a few years ago. The problem is that the private cloud automates lots of data center operations, but also creates complexity and a fast-moving IT setup that can create major management challenges. The public cloud saves IT from maintaining infrastructure, but systems administrators often have to configure web servers, virtual machine operating systems and application setups even though they are only subscribing to the solution.
According to the news source, many IT leaders are beginning to realize that even though the cloud does alleviate many of the major problems they had in the past, it also creates new ones for them to deal with.
Using console management to ease cloud burdens
Console management gives IT workers full control over any data center equipment plugged into the infrastructureand the employee does not have to be physically present at the location of the hardware to access the setup. Instead, the console server setup enables remote management capabilities that can prove invaluable as IT leaders attempt to keep up with the fast pace created by both public and private cloud solutions.
Perle's wide range of 1 to 48 port Perle Console Servers provide data center managers and network administrators with secure remote management of any device with a serial console port. Plus, they are the only truly fault tolerant Console Servers on the market with the advanced security functionality needed to easily perform secure remote data center management and out-of-band management of IT assets from anywhere in the world.
